Click here for a Report on our Mission trip to Uganda in December 2007

Our first trip to Uganda was in 2005, visiting churches in Kampala, Jinja and Busembatia.
We were deeply touched by the love and warmth of the Ugandan people, particularly the
children who were so friendly and happy in spite of their poverty. Many had no shoes or
socks and no toys! There are so many needs. A high percentage of the population are
children and many of these are orphans. On returning home we set about raising money
towards the completion of an orphanage. On our second trip in April 2006 we

strengthened relationships with several pastors and churches. Other people have helped
us to give keyboards, P.A. systems and microphones, and computers for the school.
(Which has no electricity and relies on a single generator!) Our next mission to Uganda is
in December 2007.
Lifeline Ministries East Africa, a UK charity based in Manchester, have completed
building the orphanage in Busembatia. The David

Thorpe Orphanage was opened in summer
2006 by the President of Uganda. 56 young girls can now live and operate from a place
of safety. More orphanages are already being planned. If you would like to consider
sponsoring a child, or help with current projects such as building a childrens medical
centre, you can contact this charity directly. Further information is contained in
their brochure which can be downloaded here:
