African Christmas - Uganda Report - December 2007
In December we were in Uganda for three weeks, for the primary purpose of ministering with
Pastor Kitiibwa Joseph during his eight day Crusade in Seeta, Kampala. This was held from 4.00pm until 9.00pm each day. Many singers, musicians choirs and dancers took part in typical African-style loud and joyful celebrations. Pastors preached and prayed for the sick. We witnessed miracles of healing including a crippled arm restored and several deaf and dumb people healed in the name of Jesus. It was very powerful and many others were saved and delivered.

Kitiibwa’s church ‘Compassion and Power’ is growing rapidly and his large building is filling up. We celebrated Christmas Day at the church where around 200 people were given a free meal of rice, matooki (banana), meat and ground nut sauce. |

Pastor Kitiibwa has his own weekly half hour radio programme on Dunamis Christian Radio, which goes out to over 4 million listeners in Uganda. He invited us to speak and following his message received live phone calls when he prays for peoples needs. This venture is a step of faith and he is looking for sponsors to cover the £60 month it is costing him. |
We travelled to
Nkondo which is a remote village in the bush. The church is led by
Pastor Henry. As always we received a very warm welcome as we joined in their vibrant praise. The church has no
electricity and only has African drums for instruments, but the people are really exhuberant and excited to praise God. We spent two days here singing and teaching. Many people we prayed with received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Some were overcome with joy! Many pastors came from other villages and stayed overnight.
Pastor Henry was a recipient of one of the
mobile phones we took last April. Shortly after we left he had a bad accident in which he was gored by his bull. This left him with broken ribs and in excruciating pain. His wife was able to phone for help and he was taken to hospital in
Kampala. During that same night as he was praying, he felt a tremendous peace. In the morning the consultant came with the results of his scan and was amazed to find no evidence of any injury!! Pastor Henry was immediately discharged and sent home perfectly well and in no pain. God is so good!

Two years ago the Pastor's single storey house collapsed, and he is currently rebuilding it for himself, his wife and five children. So far he has made all his own bricks, dug all the sand and and completed two rooms. When we informed him we had brought a gift from the Harvesters Trust in UK to use for his immediate needs, he smiled and said “I will buy cement!” This will enable him to finish building his house. He was so thankful and sends his love and greetings to all concerned. |

We visited Bishop Patrick Baligasima and Felister at Discipleship Missions new church in the centre of Kampala. It was good to see them again and spend time with their family. We have known them for many years and value their friendship. |
The boys we sponsor are all doing well and their school work has greatly improved since they moved to another school. It was great to see their faces opening their Christmas presents. They love to play football with us, even though Keith burst a ball just minutes after buying it! He was sent off to the shop to buy a new one!

The jumpers knitted by Charlotte's Nan for the school children in Masese were gladly received by Pastor Ismael and his wife. Thanks to everyone who gave us gifts for this school which has many very poor children and orphans. Olivia, the headmistress sends her grateful appreciation. We also thank everyone for your prayers and support.
